As a newbit to video and this program, I'm confused about editing video. The manual didn't help me, so here I am.

I want to edit the commercials out of a TV show and wind up with a final program to burn onto DVD. I opened the Windows Media Center program into VideoWave, then opened it into Video Trimmer. So, now what?

I won't attempt to explain how I tried to edit the video because it's too confusing. I'll just ask what are the best steps for edit the commercials and winding up with a finished product to burn to DVD.
