Emc 7 Startup Issues EMC 7 startup issues

I can open EMC 7 Home fine and from this, almost all other applications open but the one i really need (typical!) is to capture video from a camcorder and when i try to open the standard windows message appears saying:

"Roxio Capture has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The same happens when trying to open Video Wave.

I've tried a repair install and tried softwae updates but neither have any effect.

Any solutions would be most gratefully recieved.

Computer specs? If you have IE 7 and/or WMP 11, those have been known to cause problems. What OS?

How are you plugging in your camcorder?
