sad.gif I am using Creator 8 Suite trying to creating DVDs from record TV for my son who is in the Peace Corps far away. I have had it with trying to create DVDs from MPG with Roxio. It constantly hangs even if I manage to get the large Mpgs to load into MyDVD or Creator.

I can't stand the thought of throwing my money away on a newer version when version 8 is such a piece of &(*&.

Is there anyone who would tell me that they are successfully creating dvds from large (2 hr plus) Mpgs using Creator 9 or other newer version without hangupss? The process has essentially chewed up available memory and I can no longer view the Roxio window. It is is hung up as I write this trying to write a 2 hr Mpg to DVD. I can get it to work about one out of every 15 tries.

There has to be a better product somewhere?

One hour of best quality video on a single sided disk. A little less than 2 hours at poor quality. Are you using double layer discs? A little less than double those numbers. Perhaps a external DL drive should be considered or a different format such as DivX (highly compressed but needs a player that will handle that format.

How about telling us something about your computer? Does it far exceed the minimum specifications. Do you do normal maintenance such as checking for malware, viruses, cleaning up junk files (CCleaner is a good tool and it is free), and Defragging your hard drive? How much free spaced o you have on your computer's hard drive? Don't run any registry cleaners! Get rid of all those old programs that you don't use with Revo Uninstaller (also free).

If TIVO, note that some programs are protected and can't be copied.

But, to agree with you, EMC 8 was the worst of the versions that I've seen. Better software is in the mind of the user. If the program is logical, then it is the best. If you can use the software, if it didn't have all the issues, then the Roxio line is the best. I've tried others, including those for a MAC and this one is the most logical.

My namesake nephew was in the Pease Corps in the Ukraine (got married there). Where is your son?
