I have a Sony DRU-190A DVD and CD writer, and Easy CD & DVD Creator version 6, full retail version. The strange issue I found is that when I built my new computer I took the hard disk, with Windows XP SP3, out of my old drive and put in the new computer and Easy CD & DVD Creator found the new Sony Drive and worked perfectly okay with it.
I recently decieded to do a clean install though, and since then, after installing Easy CD & DVD Creator 6, plus all the appropriate updates and drive update, Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 no longer recognises the Sony DRU-190A drive.
I appreciate that it's a new drive, but it seems very strange that it worked okay before in the new computer, but doesn't any more!
The computer specification is:
AMD Athlon dual-core 3GHz
2Gb memory
Seagate Barracuda SATA hard disk
Sony DRU-190A optical drive
Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 motherboard
GeForce 9500 PCI-E graphics card
OS is Windows XP SP3 fully up to date, and all drivers installed an up to date.
Regards,
James

If by fully updating you included Internet Explorer 7 and Media Player 11, that could be the problem - they definitely cause problems with earlier versions
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
