Had computer crash on "New" computer. Sytem was re-formated & XPProfessional re installed. Now BackONTrack will not install from disk, declares Key# is invalid. Phoned Roxio Techies and get run around.
Put in incident reports and get same old tired solutions. I cannot get anyone to realize that the key# has been entered correctly at least 8 times with same error message is diplayed each time.

Join the club. This has happened to a lot of people so Roxio is very aware of the the problem, but lets it continue. Only thing they will do is refund the purchase price. If you paid to have it shipped to you, they refuse to refund the shipping that you paid for even! No offer of any apology. No offer of a discount off your next order, only the 10% off that everyone and their brother is offered, satisfied or not.

Sorry to say Roxio apparently purchased Sonic. Sonic was a great software developer. Roxio doesn't seem to care too much that their customers pay $50-100.00+ for most of Roxio's software and many find that simple things like a key code that unlocks it is invalid and useless. Personally I'd be embarrassed, apologetic and would do something to make it right.

yep...I am aware of that, probably since nobody responded to his post. My point was in posting in August is that this same problem still exists today. Nothing has been fixed, even though Roxio had pulled this software down after a major PC magazine reported on all the bugs this software had. Roxio had a habit of denying there was any problem at all before that even though their paying customers could not get the product to install due to invalid key code issues.

If anyone is thinking about purchasing this program, I want them to be aware that this is STILL happening to this day and they can expect the bare minimum out of Roxio's CS department. When I drop that much money for software I certainly expect the product to work as advertised. This suite doesn't even let people install for God's sakes and it has nothing to do with different configs. It's about the key codes not being valid. That's just lame. I've purchased shareware that provided better tech support.

Before posting you should at least make sure that your facts are correct blink.gif
You have it backwards - it is Sonic who bought Roxio.
