Because of lack space on the C: hard drive, I relocated my music files to an external drive. Unfortunately the playlists are not dynamic and they keep on referring to the original location on the C: drive. How can I adapt this, keeping my playlists operational?
Second, if you rename even 1 letter in 1 music file, the playlists were this file is integrated do not work anymore. How can we solve this?

A playlist is just an index - you need to rebuild it if it changes
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
