Perhaps this isn't the right forum... but I want to create a copy of an old Roxio Photosuite 5 slideshow disc with EMC 8. Trouble is, when I insert the disc to copy, Roxio freezes and I need to perform the dreaded ctrl-alt-del to get my PC working again.
I can copy other discs, I can write DVD, CD, etc. Is this a Roxio compatibility issue? My drives work fine, I can read files, etc. Doesn't seem to be the same issue as posted with the RXFilter issue...
any thoughts?

What component in ECM 8 did you try to use? Are you able to make a Disc Image of the disc you want to copy?

I was trying to make a copy of the disc. I started with the Classic Creator, it hung, then I tried to access the disc using Photosuite, it hung too. As soon as I tried to access the disc with any ECM 8 components, ECM 8 hung and had to be closed with the good old ctrl-alt-del.
I was able to create an .iso image with a freeware cd creator program and burn the .iso to a backup disc with ECM 8 so it is obviously some sore of an incompatibility of the disc contents directly with ECM 8.
So, although I have found a work around to make disc backups, I still cannot access the original Photosuite slideshow to edit, etc using ECM 8.
thanks,
D

if you go to Roxio Home -> Copy tab -> Save Image, are you able to create a disc image from there?
You will not able to edit your original slideshow from the disc using EMC 8 (Photosuite 8)

Sorry if I haven't been clear. Once I try to access the disc at all with ECM 8 running, ECM 8 hangs. I cannot do anything - save, copy, etc. ECM 8 is not usable at all!
