Greetings,
I received a Roxio message to update my T8T to 8.0.5. After successfully downloading the update, I am trying to perform the update. When I drag the application to the Applications folder I get two messages:
1. A newer named item named "Toast 8 Titanium" already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the older one you are moving? [Stop] [Replace]
I double checked that the only other T8T app is 8.0.4.
I clicked Replace.
2. The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.
This is totally bogus because I am the Administrator (aka the iMac is mine).
I restarted the iMac to clear any possible lingering processes, and get the same response each time.
The roxio support site doesn't work well. After several searches, I cannot seem to locate anything but a request to update to Version 10. I'm not interested in upgrading because it does what I need it to do.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Do one of the following:
Drag the existing Toast 8 folder to the trash before copying over the one from the installer, or
Rename the existing Toast 8 folder before copying over the new one.
You can have both the old one and the new one on your Mac at the same time, so copy of the new one without it replacing the old one. When everything is done you can remove the old one.

I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I had the same problem. After I had checked that I had got an older (8.0.4) version installed, and not a newer version as it said, I continued to install the update and then checked info and it shows I now have version 8.0.5 not 8.0.4 as it was. Very confusing though!
