i need to uninstall cineplayer that came with EMC 7.5 when i installed it and tried to play a video in media player classic i get this msg :
CinePlayer DVD Decoders
The CinePlayer decoders have not yet been activated
You must activate the product before use
Please run the player that included these decoders in order to activate the product.
i then ran cineplayer..but now any video, whether its playing in media player classic or WMP, is messed.. looks like you are looking though a frosted glass door, is there any way to fix this ??
i don't use cineplayer, but EMC 7.5 has NO way to uninstall it, or not install it at all during the initial install
please help.. thanks :-)

It has been a long time since I used that player. Often if the video acceleration is "on", then there are problems playing a video. Look in your control panel and see if there is a CinePlayer icon. You should be able to adjust the acceleration in that. You can also turn down the acceleration using Window< Start,Run, dxdiag.
Apparently you are not seeing CinePlayer in your add/remove programs so you cannot install it there. Try using Windows Installer Clean-Up Utility. Follow directions closely and read the warnings but that should work.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

well. considering media player classic worked just fine as far as the video went up till i ran cineplayer.. i was doutfull that it had to do with the video acceleration, but i tried it any way.. didn't solve this video issue, was talking to a friend and he suggested i grab the codec pack here : www.codecguide.com i installed it.. and all video is just fine... no more " looking through a frosted shower door " effect i guess installing that codec pack ( i installed the " full " codec pack reset the codecs that cineplayer messed up ...
cine player is installed with EMC 7.5, the only entry in the add/remove programs in control panel is Roxio EMC 7 so i'd guess the windows installer clean up util would just remove everything that was installed with EMC 7.5 ?
either way.. thanks for the help :-)

In Add/Remove Programs, you can click on Roxio EMC 7.5, then click on the Change button, then Next, then click Modify, then Next. Unfortunately, when you then scroll down to Cineplayer and click on the dropdown arrow, there is no selecion for This feature will not be available.

All versions, up to Creator 2009, did have some control on what was installed, but not enough, IMHO. It's worse with Creator 2009. You have no control, at all, on what gets installed.
