I recently activated my corporate installation of Roxio DE and was then unable to access one of my mapped drives. It appears that it is somehow considered a CD. A right-click displays the context menu with AutoPlay listed at the top. Each time I attempt to access the drive with a double-click in Windows Explorer, I receive a message that indicates I must go to the Control Panel to install and configure components. I'm using Windows XP Pro, Ver 2002 with SP3 applied.
I have performed the following steps to attempt to resolve this issue:
*Using Explorer, I opened the drive and went to the Folder Options and made sure all files - including system files - were displayed.
*I deleted all files on the drive (sadly, no autorun.inf existed).
*Using MSCONFIG, I disabled all startup apps.
*From the Control Panel, I uninstalled the various Roxio and Sonic products. Unlike uninstalls on prior machines, this appeared to run without a hitch.
*Using Windows Intaller Cleanup Utility, I deleted any entry starting with Roxio or Sonic.
*I deleted all Roxio and Sonic folders from the Program Files folder, the Common Files folder, the All Users\App Data folder, and my local profile folder (I do not have a roaming profile).
*I backed up the registry and removed all Roxio and Sonic folders from HKLM and HKCU.
*I restarted the computer and went to MSCONFIG and enabled all startup apps.
*I restarted the computer.
*I downloaded TWEAKUI and disabled the AutoPlay for all drives.
No luck.
I don't want to do it, but perhaps rebuilding my local profile would resolve this. Any suggestions?

Depending on the drive letter, you could try allocating it another (control panel, admin tools, drive management). I honestly don't know if that will work or not as this isn't a problem I have ever come across before.
Again, you have a Dell Corporate version and no-one here would know what is in that or how it would behave - I take it you checked with Dell Tech Support on this?

Again??? What's with the condescending tone? I didn't realize you had told me that before. This is my first post to this forum and as I understand it, these forums are intended as places where individuals can freely ask about the product without fear of being talked down to or condescended to by some unknown yet more knowledgeable stranger. Perhaps it was a typo or unintended but your reply to me should have been free of a condescending tone. Bottom line: If a post annoys you, don't respond. Thanks.
Now back to the issue...
Is it the DE that indicates the Roxio flavor is from Dell? If so, I was unaware of that and I'll contact Dell. I work for a large organization and communication between those who create the workstation image and other members of the department is clearly lacking.
The drives are mapped via a login script. The issue does not occur on machines that do not have Roxio installed. I have a vague recollection that Roxio has caused headaches for me before but that was a much earlier version.
Thanks all, I'll recreate the local profile and see if that resolves the problem.

How the hell did you come to the conclusion that there was a condescending tone in his response?
It looked to me like he was trying to help you.

Before YOU start getting uppity I suggest you read a dictionary and find out what 'again' means.
It also means 'in addition to', 'as well' and a few other things

Rather than trying to do this all yourself when you clearly don't have enough knowledge/experience/responsibility/authority to do the job, you should contact your corporation's IT expert.
. . . unless, of course, you ARE that expert.

To answer your question, yes, the DE is indicative of a Dell OEM version of Easy Media Creator.
