Installed EMC8 on my new Dell laptop with a DVD burner, and now the DVD hangs with all CD/DVD discs.  I can uninstall EMC8 and the DVD works correctly.  I have uninstalled all Roxio LE software that was preinstalled in the new computer, except the Sonic Encoder.  Does anyone know if the Sonic Encoder is causing an conflict with EMC8; maybe the encoder is included with EMC8?

More likely it's a conflict between the Sonic DLA already installed on your Dell and the Drag to Disc installed by EMC.  Remove one (or both) and you should be ok.
You may need to do a repair EMC install afterwards.
