I have replaced the original NEC writer ND-1100A supplied with my DELL Dimension 8300 series computer with the latest NEC ND-4570A on Windows XP Home Edition operating system
The drive is recognised & will play DVD's
However, I am using Roxio version 5 & in particular Videowave Movie Creator 1,6,676,1
The conversion process works as normal but at the burn stage I get:
The disc in the recordable drive is read-only: please insert a rewriteable disc
In Windows Media player I get- " No supported dvd-recorders were detected on your system"
Can anybody help?

You can try going to the Software Updates to the left, choose Easy CD Creator Version 5.x and download and install the Drive Update dated Dec 2004. According to Roxio, it works with Movie Creator and will allow the program to recognize some newer burners.
