Hello all,

I got Roxio Creator 8 XE bundled with a dvd burner. There was later a free upgrade to 9. Is this a supported product?  If I seek to register it, I don't see the product listed.  I'm having problems with the help files working as stated.

Hello,

No, Creator 9 is "out of support" just like 8.

Since you have a bundled version it will almost certainly be cut down to a mere shadow of its former self, and the vendors of the burners have undertaken to provide any support for it. [which usually means they won't give you any help at all].

The help files aren't rewritten for these cut-down versions, so they usually include a tiny paragraph somewhere saying "you might not see these things, depending on your version", just to cover their butts.

These forums can be useful for the parts of a program suite you do have, as long as you remember the volunteers trying to help you here are likely to be seeing some things you don't have. smile.gif

Thanks Brendan,
I suppose your product recommendations would be for Roxio products.
The problem I was having is adding chapters to an esisting mpg file, but I really get frustrated when I can't get answers.

Is there a particular forum that adresses over the air digital signals and getting them onto a DVD? Blue Ray maybe?

I'm open to a product purchase but I don't know much yet about video. That makes it a little harder to shop. A company with support makes a difference. I still remember saying to an agent, "do you understand what I'm saying to you?" very frustrating. OK enough whining , I'll just say thanks again.

Try to get support for your Mad Dog burner.  They went belly up.  wink.gif

Since these forums are provided by Sonic/Roxio for people using their software I won't go advertising a competitor's software here, butI use whatever product seems to easily do whatever I happen to be trying to do. I'm not religious about it, and will go to a non-Roxio program if the Roxio software won't do that particular thing.

I'm not much into editing MPG files, so I'll leave that for one of the users around here who have much experience in that sort of thing.

Sorry, I don't understand that. Receiving stuff by radio, or from TV ??

These boards have a bunch of denizens [we aren't employed by the company, we just hang around here trying to help] with a wealth of experience in video. Perhaps if you explained what you are wanting to do, one or more of them can advise you how it's done and what software can do it. They'll certainly try to help.

The only subject which is taboo here is defeating copy protection, because we'd hate to see the lawyers shut down these forums on us.
