Need help with why I can't erase a DVD+RW disc that has a MyDVD slide show on it.  The slide show was burned from an iso.image using Copy & Convert.  When attempting to use the Erase feature I keep getting a message that I need to insert a rw disc into the drive.  Just prior to erasing this particular disc I successfully erased two other DVD+RW discs of the same mfg.  Any clue as to why this disc won't erase?
System Specs:
WinXP SP3 Pro
Intel Core i5-760, 2.8GHz CPU
4GB DDR3-1333 RAM
1TB Serial ATA HD
SuperMulti 22x DL DVD+/-RW Drive
ATI Radeon HD 5670 Video Card, 1024MB Memory
Acer S201HL LED 20" Monitor
Maxtor 500 GB External Hard Drive
802.11 b/g/n Wireless Network

Dell Computer: Intel Pentium 4 at 1.8GHz; WINXPSP3; 60GB HD; 1GB RAM;
EVGA e-GeForce 6200 Video Card, 256MB; OptoRite DVD Burner

Reboot, and try it again.  It may have outlived its usefulness.

They may be from the same manufacturer, but unless they came from the same spindle are you sure they are both ReWriteables ?

If you have a look at these three logos, only the one on the right is on a rewriteable disc. The other two are DVD+R. It's easy to confuse them if you're not used to them.

The DVD disc that will not erase came from the same spindle of discs as the other two discs that did successfully erase.  The container that the discs came in states that: "This product is a rewritable disc for use in DVD+RW/+R drives."  I have tried several times to erase this disc, all without success.  The container also shows the symbol that you show on the right.  That is, the RW followed by DVD-ReWritable.

You can try this it has worked for me, in both CDDVDSpeed and DVDInfo Pro (only a 14 day trial), why I don't know!

Download the free ( Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.16 Windows NeroCDSpeed_47716.zip  1047 KB) click here......

Download it to a folder on your hard drive, unzip it to that folder, it will run from the folder click the .exe, no install required.

Open the program, from the top choose Extra, Full Format, probably take 25 minutes for a single layer 4.7 DVD....

If CDDVDSpeed won't work for you, you need Nero Aspi Layer.. Send me Private Message, click on my name, Send Message...

I've decided to just toss the disc figuring that it is bad.  Not worth spending anymore time trying to save it.  In any event, thanks to everyone that provided input.
