I store my 'Program Files' folder on the P: drive ('P:\Program Files').
I get an error message when I try to run the EMC 8.05 updater - 'The upgrade pathc cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing ....... etc etc'. Well the program is not missing from my machine!
I do not want to put 'Program Files' on to the C: drive. Is there a solution to this problem?

What version of EMC 8 do you have? If it is the downloaded version, the update won't work. If your version is 8.05 already, you won't need it.
