last week, my pc got messed up with a virus.  I was able to remove the virus, but the damage was too extensive and I needed to re-install my OS.
I could not get any data off the pc and I'd never backed up the thing before (yeah...NOW I know it's stupid...).  I happened to 'find' a copy of
Backup My PC version 6.0.0 which must have been bundled software from DELL like, 3 years ago.  I dutifully saved literally everything I could to DVD before turning in my pc for a rebuild.  I thought the Backup My PC software would be included in the rebuild, but I don't have it and it's not on my PC.
I do not have an in stall disk for it, but Ihave 3 dvd's full of my backup data which I can 't do anything with, as this product is no longer offered by Roxio, apparently (or at least I can't get the TS guys to address the issue).

Is there a ROXIO product compatible with Backup My PC  which can restore my data from the original DVD backups ?
I'm between a rock and a hard place.....

You most likely need the same Version of the program to get the data back.

Do NOT be misled by salespeople who assure you that an unrelated program included in some newer Versions, Back on Track, will do the trick - all it will do is pad their sales commissions.

Try eBay or amazon.com or similar.  You could also try DELL (as OEM supplier, it is their responsibility to restore it), or the DellTalk Forums.

Some information for next time: burn your .docs and downloads to regular CDs and DVDs - rather than using a "backup" program.  Unfortunately, "archiving material for future reference" and "making an emergency store for the entire computer" are both referred to as 'backup'.  I can understand the confusion, having made the same mistake (but having been lucky in getting the drive restored when it was taken into the shop).

I made this mistake.  I bought BOT and was extremely disappointed.  It does not do what I want it to do.

I recently sufferred a major computer disaster and had to reinstall the operating system (XP).  When I reinstalled the BUMP 6.0, I get the following error message and cannot proceed further:

"Backup MyPC Deluxe has detechd an error in the catalog. The catalog must be repaired in order to continue.  Select 'Yes' to repair the catalog now.  Select 'No' to exit.  You will be prompted again at the next startup."

I select 'yes,' a message flashes on the screen before I can read it, then the program shuts down.  I try to open it up again and receive the same message.

The Roxio website has no support for this version anymore, nor can I locate info on the web.

Is there a source for me to "repair the catalog" so I can continue with BUMP 6.0?
