Same problem???

Same answer...

I was using version 9... and when I clicked on the Roxio icon my computer would lock up... a HARD lockup (Mouse stopped moving - The ONLY way out was restarting the computer)... it was intermittent though... sometimes, I would click on the icon and nothing would happen... but, about every 3rd or 4th time that I could click on that icon it would lock up my computer...
I called DELL and they were very, very nice about the whole thing... I explained the problem... and apparently they are very aware of the many problems endured by users of Roxio products... so, they just sent me version 10...
I have an XPS-420... it has a 340GB HD. 4 GB RAM, nVidia 6200 with 512MB & nVidia 8800 GT with 256MB... with Ultimate...
I wish that I had some answers that could help people... but, I'm just as mystified by why it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't...
I notice that a few people have had problems and have posted here... Has anyone gotten a satisfactory answer to thier problem(s)...
If I have any problems with version 10.2 I may come back here for help... In the past, I've generally had much more success finding help using GOOGLE than using any producer/manufacturer site... rolleyes.gif
It does sound like some of you have gotten ahold of the incorrect product... I'd be calling DELL... I've had pretty good luck with that in the past also...
(EDIT) I have to take that back... DELL messed up also... The version 9 that I had would burn DVDs... the version 10.2 DE (Whatever that means???) that they sent to me will only do Audio CDs... blink.gif

DE stands for Dell Edition. Dell OEM versions of Roxio are crippled/cut-back/slimmed down versions of the full retail version. It is a BASIC version that if you are not satisfied with you can upgrade to the FULL version (for a price). It came free with your computer, so the price was right (at the time).

You could shop around and probably get the full retail V10 at a good price, thats up to you.
