Using Easy Media Creator 10 to burn some MPEG videos to DVD for my father so he can watch them on his TV. The video is fine but the audio doesn't play. Both video and audio play fine from the original MPEG files, but no audio is present after burning the files to DVD.

I downloaded the lastest K-Lite codecs but there was no change.

Thanks for your help. I'm out of ideas.

Jim

May be your Player.

In Project Settings, try setting the Audio to LPCM

Yes – a detailed description, step by step, including the program names.

Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 and Vista Home Premium. Using MyDVD Express program to burn MPEG files to DVD that have video and music audio. I have changed the background, added the video files (one file and several files to test) and then in settings tried different audio settings to test. In Preview mode and with finished DVD, the video is fine, but no audio.

Same files burned to DVD with freeware VideoDVD Maker, the video and audio are both present in finished DVD.

Let me know if any other info is needed.

Thanks,

Jim

Better!

Now you know why none of us waste time with the wizards…

You cannot add audio to a video clip using MyDVD Express so how did you do that?

If you use MyDVD instead, how does it do in preview?

I used MyDVD this time with same results. Changed audio settings as you suggested and still no audio in preview mode.

Then the problem is in the file…

Let's talk about that.

I agree w/ Jim that the file is the source of the problem.

I'm suspecting the recurring problem of mono (rather than stereo) sound. I'm betting no audio in Videowave preview in addition to no audio on your dvd.

Maybe read this thread from post 4 on down.

Files are MPEG. They work fine (both video and audio) with the freeware DVD creator programs I've tried, but not with Roxio.

Thanks. I've downloaded Super. I'll try your suggestion and see what happens.

I tried Super but kept getting errors. Never could get it to work properly.

First I've heard of someone not getting Super to run. Here's a link to another converter, I believe Steve recommends this one. I don't see how you will get audio in your final product unless they go through some converter.
