I am putting together a slideshow and video combination of my last cruise. I am using Videowave to do this project, and got some great info from GGRussell. So I am adding photos and am adding auto motion to each picture individually and complaining to my G/F, who is not a computer person, that is is a real pain to do this.
She says "If you can do it in MYDVD, you can do it in videowave." I say "No I cant". She says "Get out of the chair".
Click, click, click. "There quit your whining"
It worked and she had never seen the program before.
The problem....I am trying to edit video clips out of a long file that I capured from my DAZZLE! but I can't find the area or program to trim the clips. I have them as both mpg and avi files. (Is either on easier to work with?)
So please Great Roxio Gurus, put me on the right path so I don't have to embarass myself by asking my girlfriend.
I must be dumber than a box of rocks.

Hi, akfoster. To eliminate unwanted portions from a video file, try this:
1. Drag the avi file (that should be easier and quicker to work with than the mpg) to the video track in Videowave.
2. Make sure you are in the timeline view and play the video to the beginning of the portion of the video you want to delete and pause.
3. Use the previous/next frame buttons in the Preview window to tweak the location, then right mouse button click and select Split.
4. Now continue playing the clip to the end of the section to delete and the repeat step 3.
5. Point to the split portion to delete, right mouse click and select Delete. It is gone
Repeat the above for all portions to delete. Remember, your original file is not changed. Another good practice is to save the project frequently.
Hope that helps. Ask your girlfriend to help if you run into trouble

Asking her is just what I am trying to avoid!
Hey thanks for the info. I am still struggling with using all the features of this program. Sometimes I just get locked into a mindset and cant break out.
And excellent point about saving.

I was only kidding about asking your girlfriend for help, but I could not resist after your pan & zoom story.
Anyway, let us know if splitting the video works for you.
