Computer:  Gateway GT5654 running Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 and all Windows updates.

I have repeatedly attempted to install the latest downloaded version of EMC 10 with no success.

Each time, the same thing happens:  The install starts and progresses fine up to about the 60% mark.  As Setup begins to install Roxio Media Share, it stops, rolls back everything that has been installed and displays the message that Setup has been "interrupted."  I have tried redownloading the setup file.  I have also tried installing EMC 10 with all antivirus, antispyware and firewall software disabled and with the PC disconnected from the Internet, and the results are the same.  What's so baffling is that I have installed this software before on this PC without incident; it's only since I reinstalled Vista that I have had this issue.

Anyone have any bright ideas I could try next?  huh.gif

One thing that might be different is ' .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 '  comes up as a update after you install Vista SP1. Have you applied that update?

Yes, I have.  What's interesting now that you mentioned it is that .NET Framework Version 1 Service Pack 1 installed AFTER that update (I have auto updates enabled).  Might this be the issue?

Look in add remove programs for this '.NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1'. Don't know if it will help uninstalling then try to reinstall V10 again with the clean uninstall reinstall procedure, listed in my signature #  12. Clean Install Instructions for Easy Media Creator 9 & 10 on Windows Vista....Have you followed that procedure that led to V10 install failure?

.NET Framework Version 1, 2, and 3 are part of the Vista OS..

So far, not so good.   angry.gif   Let me ask:  Do I have to have .NET 1 and 2 installed if I have .NET 3.5?  I'm about ready to reinstall Windows and start over , installing EMC10 before applying any Windows updates.  Might that help?

I am having exactly the same problem trying to reinstall EMC 10 on a new gateway w/vista home Premium. I am going to "clean uninstall" again in case something was missed the first time. ACC
