Hi,
I just installed an external DVD DL writer which works fine with my backup software and the Easy CD 6 works fine with an older internal DVD drive.

The new one is recognized by 'Easy CD and DVD Creator 6' in the sense of being able to start the burn process, once the progress window shows 'wrinting table of content' at 100% it just does not continue.
Task manager shows the program as running and I can terminate it.

I was not able to run the built in updater (I assume I have the latest version) - will I have to upgrade to Media Creator 8, or are there other options to try?

many thanks,
Wolfgang

As ogdens said, Dual Layer was first supported with EMC 7.1.

In addition, V.7, 7.5, and 8 require Win2000 SP4 or WinXP SP1, minimum.

thanks for your replies -

I am not trying to burn DL, but I guess it has to do with the response to certain commands within the drive...

All other applications I tried with it burned CDs / DVD successfully (backup, audio burning)

I bought V6 recently because I am not planing to change my audio workstation to XP and this is where this burner was added.

regards,
Wolfgang

Since it does work correctly with Classic, the drive is recognized.

Since you don't have XP, I wonder if your PC meets the minimum requirements listed on the box?

You did not specify what program in the Suite you are using.

Have you tried it with CD media?

Latest Platinum version is 6.2.0.134 (Help – About)

V6 uses dynamic drive detection. If the drive is less than 2 years old, it should comply with the standard and be recognized.
