I have read a lot of posts here and on Apple's Discussion Boards. Someone help. I have the following equipment:

Sony HD SR1 camcorder
Imac Aluminum 3.06 with 2Gig RAM and 500 Gig Harddrive
LaCIE 1TB External

Final Cut Express 4
Toast 9 Titanium with HD Plug in.

I can't seem to get the right settings from start to finish. I want to

1. import to FinalCut WITHOUT loss of video quality,
2. Then edit and export to a format to burn a Bluray for viewing on my PS3 (either on DVD-DL or Bluray discs in the future).

When I play my M2TS files directly from the camera on my PS3 (or copy those files to the PS3) the quality is superb. No matter what I do with FCE and/or Toast, they are never as good. Help ! Thanks
