Bupc Restore Question

I just installed BackupMyPC that came with my HP Pocket Media Drive, and I am not clear on the algorithm used in restore. In my short test, it appears that it restores files I deleted after I did the backup. Example:
I backup Files 1, 2, 3
Now I delete File 2
Then I do a restore and I get Files 1, 2, 3
It seems like I should not want any files that I deleted since my backup, right?
