I am wanting to open MPEG files that were created using Roxio 7. I can still open and view them using my Sony computer that has the Roxio software on it, but when I try to open them using Quick time on my new Apple IMAC or even when I try to open on my Dell Laptop, it does not recognize them the mpeg format. How do I correct this? If I purchase a MAC version of Roxio will it be able to open them? If not...what can I do? These are home movies that I don't want to lose!
Thanks!

Going to need more than you are telling us…
QT will open any mpeg file including mp4 which are High Def.
Detail the exact program you used (about 30 of them in Roxio) and how you did it?

The message I got in QT was that it is not a mpeg file. I got the same message when I tried opening some of the movies (not all of them, though) on my Dell Laptop using QT. The movies were created several years ago using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. I captured the video from VHS onto my Sony computer using Gigapocket. Does that tell you what you need to know?
Thanks!

What is the extension of these video files? Are they .mpg .dmsm .dmsd or what exactly?
Thanks!
