I am trying to run the UPDATES for Easy Media Creator 10. When it asked for my serial number, I went to my account and got it. My account indicates that the first number is 10DG. The form is looking for a 2 digit number. I can't get the serial number to fit the form so that I can complete installation.

I believe the correct format for emc10 serial numbers is:
xx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
My first two characters are letters.
Upstate NY

The 10 that you are seeing is part of the product description, not part of the serial number. Your Serial number starts with the DG only.
