When recording albums, I find the musicID feature in Roxio LP & Tape Assistant to be practically useless. When I use other programs such as Acousica's 'Spin It Again', I simply type in Album and Artist (and nothing else) in the appropriate fields and the results would bring up the album or a list of albums to choose from. I choose the correct album, everything is taged correctly and I'm done. But with muisID, I'll select all tracks, specify Album and Artist in the tag fields and it proceeds to search each individual track instead of the album. No choices are given and the tracks are named or renamed according to the search by musicID. The problem is, the resulting tags are usually only about 10% accurate. MusicID seems not to stay with my input tag fields (Album & Artist) exclusively and the result is a bunch of mismatched titles. Sometimes it will get a song title correct but the album and/or track # will be different (such as a remix w/bonus tracks, etc.). So out of, say 10 tracks, it might get 1, 3 & 9 correct and the rest will be a collection of titles and artists that have nothing to do with the Album & Artist that I inputed. I've tried numbering the tracks in the appopriate tag field for each individual track in addition to inputing Album & Artist in hopes of confining the search to one particular album but this only results in some different titles that are just as mismatched with musicID changing the inputed track numbers as well as album and/or artist. Presently what I do is record an album using Roxio LP & Tape Assistant (because I find the clean/edit features are superior to other programs) as one file and save it untagged. Then I open that file in "Spin It Again" to dice and tag. Like I said, "Spin It Again" does an excellant job of obtaining album info for tagging with very little input/effort from me. But it would obviously be desireable to just stay within Roxio LP & Tape Assistant and not have to use two separate programs.
