I created a large VideoWave slide show for an Aunt's funeral, and after rendering it to mpg, and discovering a few errors in the show, I tried to re-open the dmsm file to correct the mistakes. To my surprise and chagrin, I found I was unable to re-open the base dmsm file. When I try, none of the show loads up, and all menu functions are grayed out. This has never happened to me before in all the shows I have created.
I've tried completely removing and re-loading Roxio EMC 7.5, and even tried this on another computer, but the results are always the same.
Roxio just says 7.5 is no longer supported - try the forums.
Anyone else have this happen and find a way around it??
HELP! Relatives who saw the show (mistakes and all) want copies and I don't want to have to completely re-build it with all the photo's, music, text overlays, etc.

Reasons???
Most likely is that the dmsm file got corrupted.
You can try deleting Proxy files etc.
In a pinch, you can load the DVD files from the disc to your HD and into VideoWave.
It will be one continuous movie but you can split it and delete or add as you need to.

Anything got changed in your system since the last time you used EMC 7.5? Do you have IE7 or Media Player 11 installed? They are reported to cause problem with 7.5.

What happens if you create a new Videowave slideshow, save the project file and then open that project file? Does that work correctly?

This may be a "long shot", but give the following a try and see if it helps.
It may be that the Media Manager db is corrupt.
Try the following and see if it helps.
Rename your Media Manager folder:
Media Manager is a hidden file. Go to My Computer/Tools/Folder Options, click on View, scroll down to Hidden Files and folders, and click in the circle to the left of Show hidden files and folders. Click on Apply, then Ok.
a. Close all open applications, especially Roxio applications.
b. Open My Computer.
c. Double click on the C: drive and browse to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Roxio, where USERNAME is the name of the user you are currently logged in as.
d. Right click on the MediaManager folder and choose rename.
e. Name the folder MediaManager.old

I encountered a problem after doing a DVD for my father (all videos were done in Videowave). I had to reburn it in a different format to get it to work on his DVD. I inserted the DVD that wasn't being read by his DVD player, used "Copy and Convert" to resave each individual movie on the computer and just had to redo the menu- burned perfectly! I know this isn't really what you wanted, but if you do have the original it might save you time from not having to redo the entire thing again.

There is only One Format for a DVD Movie! You can't change that…
It sounds like you improperly burned the DVD in the first place then used VCC to make up for your mistake.
All of which has absolutely nothing to do with the original Topic here. – it is rude to butt into other conversations.
