I just upgraded to Creator 2009 and applied SP3. I bought my first BD-R disk (Philips 25 GB, 2x) and simply want to burn data files to it. I guess the disk is now trash because Creator returned a write error. Here is what I have:
Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1
Creator 2009 with SP3
Blu-ray RW drive (Device Manager description is "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE GBW-H20L")
From the Creator 2009 Home screen, I selected "Data - Copy" and then "Burn Data Disk". I inserted my BD-R disk and it was recognized. I drug a chunk of about 22 GB worth of files onto Creator and it showed the disk would be 98% full. In the options, I set the following:
Type: Track at Once (TAO), Open
Mode: Mode 1
File System: ISO+Joliet (106 character file names)
Write-Once DVD Compatibility: I want to close the DVD
Burn Options: Safe (recommended)
After a couple of minutes, the disk was ejected from the drive and Creator issued a write error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The horse is out of the barn, but why on earth would you not start with an RE disc!!!!
Put the disc back in and from the Home app select, Tools – Get Disc Information.
What does it have to say about your disc?
Have you applied any firmware updates for your BD Burner?
None of the Gurus have a BD burner, so you get to be our tester!
Get an RE disc and try it in Creator Classic, small number of files. If it works (rejoice) then erase it (Tool – Erase Disc) and try the same in Burn Data Disc. Let us know what happens.

Roxio wrote software to burn BD-R discs, so certainly someone on here has experience with it (I hope!).

The above info states the disc is blank so would appear no damage was done. Personally, I've never really liked the 'Home' application. I would try Creator Classic, too. It supports BD 25 and BD 50. Just remember to change the disc size.

Yes you were silly and no one can write software to anticipate that
Check on firmware updates, many Burner will have one waiting even before you unpack the box.
I agree with Gary, looks like the error was in the burner and the disc was never touched.
But we are both curious to see if both programs will work with BD???
