I have a notebook Pavilion DV6242 with Vista Home Premium with Easy Media Creator pre-installed in factory by HP.
After a CD/DVD burner substitution, due that old burner was broken, my Creator Basic 9.0 write in box Destination selection: "No unit detected" (in italian version: "Nessuna unità rilevata") and i cannnot burn any CD/DVD. I already tried to uninstall (also deleting all roxio keys on windows register) and reinstall EMC 9.0 many times without to solve the problem.
and i think that the problem could be that during diagnostic the technician suggested me to delete lowerfilter from windows register.
Can someone help me to restore EMC 9?
Thanks in advance.

It is not unusual for an OEM [Original equipment Mfgr] Version to only recognize the burner it came with. Thus, it is possible you would need to get a retail full Version (EMC 9 is out of support and fairly cheap on the re-sale market these days) to recognize the new drive.
When I tried a re-install of the OEM burning program that came with the Combo drive on my WinXP (the original drive was CD-RW; the shop had done an update that got it to recognize BOTH drives), it only recognized the Combo drive. Had to take it back to the shop ($$) to get both recognized

Download, extract, then run the PX Engine updater and see if that helps.
