For some unknown reason I can't get Label Creator to save a project. When I go to "Save As" or "Save" the window does not come up which gives me the option of naming the project and saving.
When closing the label creator window another window comes up "Do you want to save changes and I click yes. However nothing further happens and the application stays open.
I performed a clean uninstall and reinstalled but the issue is still not solved.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris

Are you using an OEM (not retail) version of EMC 10? If yes, then that may be the reason.
Also, you may want to try this update for a retail version of EMC 10:

Chris,
Have a look in the HELP file for the Express Labeler. You might find this in there, applying to you.

Thank you both for your helpful comments. I will try the updates to EMC 10 as I have the full version purchased on line from Roxio.
Also I got the save feature working on label creator by doing another clean uninstall and disabling msconfig start up programmes before reinstalling. I didnt disable the start up programmes the previous reinstall and that's what caused some of the problems.
Label creator seems to be working fine and can save projects now with the exception that it can't open some previous projects. Some previous projects can be opened but some hang and others don't open with the error not enough ram which can't be the real reason. Possibly those projects that can't be opened were created with EMC 9. I will try the EMC update and see what happens. I think my previous problems "may" have been caused by a registry cleaner.
If there are any suggestions how to open previous label creator projects created with EMC 9 please let me know.
Kind Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,
Forgive me please for not realizing you were working with files from an earlier version. I could have given you the very short answer - they won't work
While Label Creator 10.0 had a lot of compatibility with label files from earlier versions - some I tried even as far back as Easy CD Creator 3, that was all destroyed with Label Creator 10.1. I found that 10.1 wouldn't even work with files saved by 10.0. I had some cases where I could read earlier version saved files, but could never re-save them. Usually I would get an "input past end" error or a complete freeze of Label Creator.
We hoped that Label Creator 11 (Creator 2009) might fix this, but LC 11 seems identical to LC 10.1 and it looks like no change will be made.

Thanks Brendon for letting me know. That explains why the latest verision of EMC 10 I just updated will not open any earlier versions of label projects or freezes and hangs when I try and open earlier projects or comes up with the error message you mention. As you say version 10.1 won't open projects from v10 which is a great shame. Lets hope the Roxio developers can fix the problem.
These last few days I experienced many problems with EMC 10 with applications not launching like sound editor and label creator which made me reinstall and update to the latest version.
I "think" I have found the cause of the problem. I recently updated my NVIDIA driver to the latest version for my Fx 5200 card. The new driver had a feature called nView which controls the appearance of open windows on multiple monitors. However, unfortunately nView caused some windows to become invisible when they launched. I rolled back to an earlier driver without nVIEW and EMC 10 is working much better now*. And all this time I thought a registry cleaner or the XP SP3 update was to blame. It seems that nVIEW was the culprit. Oh well, we live and learn.
Kind Regards
Chris
* If you Google "disable nVIEW" it seems many have had problems with it.
