Can't Capture From Camcorder

Need help i can't capture from my camcorder hit capture it only lets me play back disc chapters but won't caputure to computer.Sony handycam with usb wire thanks Steve

If your camcorder is the miniDVD type, then you don't capture at all. You COPY the folders, from the disc, to a folder on your hard drive. You can then open VideoWave (Edit Video-Advanced) and bring in those files for editing.

Thanks for reply in capture it won't let me copy it to any folder.#4

You don't use Capture for anything. You copy the files, from your DVD, just like you would copy any file, from one place on your computer, to another. You use My Computer to do it.

Idid that when i use videowave it won't take it for editing.It becomes a vob file

That is correct. When in Videowave, click on 'Add Video/Image' and point it to the folder where the VOB is located. Videowave should no problem adding the VOB file to the timeline.

I do that i drag it to the timeline click it and i get a no video file here thanks for the help

Yes, you get them from the Video_TS folder. You can't drag them to Storyline or Timeline. Click on one of the .vobs, click on Open, and you should get a box asking which ones you want brought in.
Also, before you bring in any files, click on File/New Production, and pick whether you want 4:3 or 16:9. I believe the default setting is 4:3.
