Hi folks, like many of you I've downloaded and re-installed EMC 10.1 about 15 times now on my WinXP Service Pack 3 Dell 4550. The install is successful and the icon is on the desktop after I reboot, but the program won't launch. I've tried everything to get this program to work:

- Disabled all features in McAfee Total Protection
- Disabled startup tray via msconfig
- Used CCcleaner to clean registry and disk cleanup
- Created new account and downloaded/installed as different user
- Followed Roxio forum's "How to do a Clean Install" instructions to a tee (including registry maintenance and deleting old folders)
- Used Windows Installer Utility to ensure all roxio and sonic files were removed before re-installing

Any thoughts on why this won't work and what I can do to get EMC 10 back on my PC? Thanks in advance, Erika

Why do you keep downloading EMC 10? Have you not saved it to a folder on your PC?

Do you get any error message?
What are your system specs especially your video card?

Did you ever have EMC 10.1 running on your system?

Hi Walt, you're right, I have now downloaded the .exe to my PC... I get no error messages at all, everything downloads and looks great... yes I had EMC 10 and it just stopped launching a few weeks ago.

How do I acquire specs to my vcard? PS Just uninstalled McAfee altogether, downloaded and ran install, same thing: no errors, smooth sailing, and doesn't launch... Yours in Newbieness,

Erika
