I had been using Easy Creator 7 for some time to rip CDs with MP3 files for use in my car. I recently had a computer crash and had to reinstall windows and all my programs. Now , when I rip a CD, the option to rip to MP3 is not there in the window--just WMA and something else I can't recall right now. Anyone have an idea what's going on here---why MP3 is not an option anymore ? Thanks in advance !

Bob, could you maybe give us a screenprint?  Something might provide a clue to somebody that might be helpful.

I lost a Trojan War on Jan 1 and had to re-install WinXP and everything else, including EMC7 -- and mp3 does appear as an option.  I've not actually used it yet, but it is offered.

Good luck.

After posting the preceeding, it occured to me that having the "option to rip to MP3" might depend on your having re-installed a/the mp3 encoder(s).  But in Creator Classic, I see that Tools/Options/"Copy Tracks from Audio CD" provides 5 filetypes -- 2 are mp3 encoders (including Fraunhofer), plus ogg, wav, and wma.  Also, these 5 are the options shown in the Creator Classic Help Center, so I would presume your re-installing EMC7 would have necessarily included those 5, and no further installing necessary.

But maybe there is a another, different avenue for ripping in Creator Classic.

I am so stumped on this--just 3 types of files are showing as I said. I think I will uninstall it and try again, although I don't expect anything different. Thanks for you reply.

What program, in EMC 7, are you using?  I will try to re-create it, although I have EMC 7.5, not EMC 7.  Nothing, with the base programs changed, between EMC 7 and EMC 7.5, except Sound Editor.
