I am using MyDVDExpress to try to create my first DVD, when I get to the point of the Burn Project Window, It shows me that my DVD/RW drive is empty.

I put in a brand new DVD +R disc in my DVD/RW drive, I selected the appropriate drive in the dropdown for the drive.  It almost appears that I need to format the DVD first?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You definitely DON'T format the disc. That will ruin it.

What is the make and model number of your DVD drive, please? You can find it by opening Windows Device Manager, and clicking on the plus (+) sign alongside the DVD/CD-ROM drives icon to expand the display and show your drive(s). Please give us the entire entry for your burner.

Thank you, that drive should handle both 'plus' DVD+ and 'dash' DVD- discs.

Can you burn your project to an 'image' ? If you can successfully make an .ISO image, you could then try burning it to disc with the free IMGBURN program you can download HERE.

Doing it this way will firstly check out the software systems that create the disc image. Then if ImgBurn recognizes the blank disc and will burn to it, that checks out your drive as okay.

If neither Creator 2009 nor ImgBurn can see a new disc to burn, then your burner needs to be checked.
