I have an HP Pavillion Core 2 Duo at 2.00 GHz with 2GB of memory and an ATI Radeon HD 4650 video card with 1 GB memory.  Why do I get "Insufficient video resources" when I try to run CinePlayer v 5.0?  I'm running 32 bit Vista.

All video drivers are up to date.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

Update your video card drivers and it should go away.

If you have the latest, delete them and apply the update again.

Jim,

I'll uninstall the drivers and reinstall the latest version from ATI again.

Thanks

I also opened up a tech support ticket.  We'll see what they come back with.

Well, uninstalling the drivers then re-installing didn't do anything.  Still getting Insufficient video resources. angry.gif

Go into the tools section of CinePlayer and turn off video acceleration.  Try again.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I've seen that option on other working installs but Cineplayer won't even start on this install.  I can't get there from here!

Roxio Support is very helpful.  They said I may not have enough video horsepower (Radeon 4650HD with 1GB....right....  wacko.gif ) or the drivers are outdated (April 2009)!!

Then they said, if all else fails, try a clean reinstall.

Actually one review from last year refers to your video card as a “budget video card” for “low end gaming or media PC’s”… Users often believe their hardware is better than it really is.

It is still better than mine!!!  laugh.gif

In any case, the Clean Install is probably what you need to do.

Clean install worked rolleyes.gif In the process, I also removed all other Roxio software that came pre-installed with the PC.

I have installed SP4 successfully and guess what.....everything, including Cineplayer, still works!

Hopefully, everything will be OK.

???If you followed the Clean Install, you should have removed all other Roxio/Sonic software as part of the process.

Might be best to stop tinkering while it is working.

That is what I was implying....the clean install process removed ALL Roxio software including the preinstalled stuff.

I'm not tinkering....Roxio is the one that wants to update itself.

In the main Creator 2009 Home page, go into Tools>Options>and un-check "check for updates".
