If you're burning directly to disc, try burning to an image instead. Remove the check from the 'burn to disc' and add a check to 'save disc image file'. When completed, burn the image with Disc Copier. If you still get errors, please post back with the error information.

It did not work. I did not get an error, it just stopped running. I could still hit cancel though and get out of it. Any other ideas?

Had same problem would burn up to in my case video 2 (71%) then stop - Had to remove that item from the project alter it slightly then put back - All works ok Proved it was the video as could put that on a disk on its own and the burn would stop at the same point. All other videos worked fine on thier own.
Try removing the menu put back on

Here are some helful tips:
1. Make sure you computer exceeds the minimum requirements
2. Defrag your HD before working with files (if files is badly defragged, it can stop the process)
3. Close all background taks and maybe antivirus or Internet security program

Responding to Jim Coleman's tips:
1. I've tried EMC8 on three different machines, including a brand new top-of-the range Dell, all with the same problems.
2. Drives are defragged regularly.
3. No - why should I turn off my security applications to compile a menu? Anyway, the diffent machines run different virus checkers, and one has no internet security product installed - doesn't make any difference.
Good luck to anyone who perseveres with this product - I'm off!

Has anyone here looked at this post that references an error when encoding the menu and lists a fix?

I haven't tried the hotfix, but the error is slightly different. The problem referred to in this post is that the encoder just stops - no error message is displayed.
