Running fresh install of Roxio Creator 9.0 DE - When attempting to copy a cd which is ok to copy and not write protected, I place the disk to be copied in the proper drive and the blank cd in the rw drive. Program starts, gets to about 24Mb copied, then stops, advises "problem with disk-possible scratches, etc." (There are no scratches or flaws and have ran this same cd in other machines and made copies with no problems).
So, clicking on try again brings up a different error message telling me the disk you are trying to copy is not blank, insert another. So I grab another new out of the package blank "Dynex Brand" CD-R, place it in the drawer, click start and same errors repeat. I have ran this brand of cd in other machines and burned copies with no problems what so ever. Can anyone advise me what to do or check out next? Many Thanks: Richard

First of all which program do you have? You are posting in the Creator 2009 forums but state you are using Roxio Creator 9.0 DE
Have you tried to first copy the CD to your hard drive and then copy from the hard drive to a CD? Have you tried another brand of CDs such as Verbatims. I have never heard of Dynex.

These two different versions, 2 years apart. BTW, the DE propably refers to a Dell version of the program which means its OEM and has many features crippled or missing.

Dynex used to be seconds from a major manufacturer (Ritec) but now they are cheaper knock offs made in China. Equal to or worse than house brands. About 30 cents each or less from Best Buy. I don't think any reputable on-line site carries them.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
