I have captured a video clip into Roxio, but when I go to Videowave and try to open the video clip, all video clips show up with the hour glass and no video.  I can open photos, but no videos.  They are in the AVI format, I used Roxio video capture to put them on the computer.  They are there, but for some reason I can't get them into Videowave.  Any suggestions on how to get that hour glass to change to the actual video?  thanks.  Mary

Can you play any of the videos in Windows Movie Player or VLC?

Please post your computer specs.  Please include the information on your video card or video chip.  Inadequate video resources could work with images but not videos.  That is why it is import to have the specs.

How long did you wait after adding one of the AVI files?  How long are the AVI files?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanks for the reply.  My computer specs should appear at the bottom of my first inquiry - hope that helps.  Last night I decided to delete all previous attempts and try again.  The video clips are very short - one is 2 minutes, the other is 5 min.  I went to video capture and everything went great. When I finish the capture, on the right hand side of the screen under Recently Imported, and captured video shows up with a question mark in the center.  So now I am assuming it is not Videowave I am having a problem with, it is Video Capture.  Thanks, will see what else I can try.   Mary

Can you play the captured videos through Windows Media Player?
From what device are you capturing? digital or analog camcorder? digital camera/ DVD or HD camcorder?
What is your capture device? How is it connected?

I cannot play it in Media Player, because I don't think it captured properly because of the question mark on the front of the it.  I have a Canon Digital recorder, I have the proper cord to capture it, I used Roxio Video capture.  It records, then when it is done recording it appears on the right hand side under "recently Imported" with a question mark in the box.  I can, however, capture it using another program I have and it works fine and can be played in Media Player, but videowave will not open any videos - I just get the hour glass.  So in Capture, I get the question mark (doesn' capture properly), and Video wave only gives me hour glasses for all videos (even those I can play in Media Player) and they are all in the AVI format.  So I guess my problem is two-fold.  I don't mind capturing video in another program, but I would like to put them in Videowave to edit, if I click on the hour glass, my computer locks up.  What a dilemma.  thanks for  any help you can give me.  Mary
