"Roxio"...
That narrows it down to about 50 products. Want to close in on that?

You can't.
roxio CREATOR Basic
roxio MY DVD Basic 9
software that came with the laptop
You have a stripped down version of EMC 9, that came with a computer, or a DVD burner, and there are no updates for the software.
Your version may not work with Vista. Time to purchase a full version.

Anyone who says you can't is wrong.
Please see the pinned post from Roxio on this matter.

Brendon, I may have this wrong, but I looked at that patches, prior to my post, and I saw nothing about any patch for the Basic version of the software. I did see patches for the Retail and Trial Versions of the software, though.
Perhaps you would be kind enough to show Frenchie, and me, the portion that shows the patch for the Basic version.

Given that he's posting in the version 9 forum, he should use the appropriate patch from the "For retail and trial" section. The terminology in the message isn't correct [e.g. there's no DLA/D2D in 9 trial version] however the drivers are the same wherever DLA is provided.

Suggestion: Use the Dell patch mentioned in that post. That will install the latest version of D2D/DLA. Don't worry about not having a Dell machine - it works fine on mine, which isn't a Dell. That should update the driver so Vista doesn't complain. You can always uninstall or just not use the software if you want.
