Recently I had to reformat my hard drive. I have reinstalled all of my previous non-Roxio programs and they are working just fine. A few of the programs I reinstalled required me to re-register, with no resultant problems.

The only program I am having a problem in re-registering is Creator 6. I originally purchased the product on-line from Roxio and downloaded the software. I have the key code and used it to succesfully re-install the product.

When I try to re-register I get an answer back that "The activation server reports that the distribution of the CD Key has been disabled".

Roxio Customer Service refuses to help saying that the product is no longer supported. I feel that is totally irresponsible since I paid for the product and have the right to continue to use it.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks...Greg mellow.gif

If it works, I'd suggests not worrying about it.

Roxio has since been bought by Sonic, has migrated thru a couple of different computer server systems for the Forums, etc., and Sonic only supports the two most recent Versions - that is, not only is Version 6 out of support, so are EMC 7, 7.5, 8, and 9. They will probably drop support for EMC 10 later this year.

About all official registration does is allow them to email you buy the newest Version, whether your computer is powerful enough to run it or not, and whether you need all the bells and whistles or not.

Lynn is correct.

I just installed V6 on an old PC last month and skipped the registration. It would not server any point since we are already registered…

My problem is that since I can't re-activate the software, I am unable to use it.

The program allowed me to skip the registration process initially, but for only 14 days. Now, when I start the program, I can not get past the screen where it asks me to activate the sofware.

No idea what you are talking about – been running V6 on a reinstall for more than 30 days…

I just created a personal web page and posted screen shots of what I am refering to when I try to start any of the Roxio programs that were included in the version 6 I purchased (Roxio AudioCentral, Creator Clasic, Disc Copier, Drag-to Disc, etc.).

Visit My Website

I am unable to get past the last screen shot. I have no choice but to click on the cancel button and exit.

Still don’t recall ever seeing that and I installed 4/3/09.

Might have been something required from a download version – I bought the Box.

Some thoughts – the program was one of a kind. V7 was completely different and vastly improved. The improvements continued through the years. If you replace it, you will never miss it!

Thanks Jim for your suggestions.
