When I tried to install EMC 9XE that came with a Mad Dog DVD writer, I get the following error message:

Error-1402 Could not open key:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Roxio\Preferences  

I uninstalled ECDC 6, which never really worked right or would allow any updates, but that didn't help.  Now neither the dvd or my cd writer will record.  Both will play media, just not write.  Can anybody help?
