I have uninstalled and re-installed now four times making sure to delete all the components and it still locks up. It worked great up until it prompted me to install the update and it wouldn't let me do anything else. I tried ignoring the update and that didn't work either. I am so frustrated.

At what point does it lock up? Have you tried trashing the Toast plist and prefs files and then relaunching Toast?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
