I burned a DVD project to DVD +R but it will not play in my PS3 any ideas ?

No but all of the details you left out between ’I burned…’ and ’?’ are probably where the answer is

OK I created slide shows using Create DVDs advanced and added them to the project. When i was done I selected Burn to DVD it created the disc, but when i insert it into my PS3 is does not play

Try a settop DVD player, does that play the disc?

Yes, it should be OK the way you went and the PS3 is generous about playing burned discs.
But cd's suggestion would be a good test.
