I am using the Panasonic SDR-H200 3.1 MegaPixel HD Camera and I have importing the files into Roxio Creator 2009 I'm noticing that the images and people in my videos are a bit stretched out vertically. Any thoughts to what is causing this?

4:3 or 16:9 ? If 16:9, did you select wide screen project when you opened Video Wave? If 4:3, just the opposite.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

HD as in hard drive not HiDef.
Usually that is abbreviated as HDD as it is on the side of the camcorder. That camcorder is standard definition hard drive model that records to MPEG 2 files and most likely the file extension is MOD. Correct? That file format does not have the correct widescreen flag in the file header like it should. Unfortunately, Videowave can not correct that.
Download this freeware app SDCopy. Easy to use and will correct the problem.

Thank You for the quick response and your response makes sense. The only thing is that in my Roxio Creator 2009 all my projects are set to 4:3. Will converting the files from MOV to MPG help my issue?
Like I said the playback is fine in 4:3 format except everyone in my family seems a bit stretched vertically. If you don't look closely you don't notice right away but it gets annoying to the eye because it is distorted or stretched vertically.

No your not getting it yet…
In VideoWave (Creator 2009 is like 35 programs) you have to START by setting a New Project to either 4:3 or 16:9.
However either will handle 16:9 properly as long as it has the flag set properly within your Source File!
Your Source Files are improperly set!!!!!!!!
You have to use the SD program Gary pointed you to, to properly set that flag.
Until you do this nothing in the world is going to make them work.

On my HDD camcorder I must of recorded in WS mode so I ran the utility to convert the files from .MOV to .MPG. My project is set to 4:3 but my Chapters are now in WS format. I guess my mistake was that I did not record in 4:3 format on my recorder but in the camcorder viewer it cuts off have the screen. Can I get Roxio not display them in 16:9 format but 4:3 ?

??????
If you set a Project to 4:3 and add a 16:9 file it will have the black bar top and bottom.
If you set a Project to 16:9 and add a 16:9 file – no bars!
If your Project it 4:3 and you get distorted video when you add 16:9, it is your file that is the problem.

Since the video is already widescreen and you seem to be set on 4:3 output, you have two choices:Do as Jim suggested. Create a 4:3 project and add your file. This will create bars on top and bottom.
or
Create 4:3 project, add the file and then add Pan/Zoom to cut off the left/right which will then fill the 4:3 screen.
