I am using creator 10 on a new machine with factory installed vista home 64bit and when I plug in my canon zr65mc camcorder either creator doesnt find it or if it does then it loses connection shortly after the upload process. I have been in contact with canon and from what they are telling me and all on my end are okay(firewire hookup) and my camcorder does have the (dv in) in my camera screen, that just means it is waiting on the program. I have been in contact with my computer manufacter and there are no errors with the firewire plug card(IEEE 1394). so if you could please help shed some light on this issue that would be great.

Could be a few things… One quick test is to download and try a small Firewire capture program called WinDV – Here

Fabulous little program! Give it a try and see what happens.

Well it is not the software!

That leaves your camcorder – the wire – your port…

Welll then that leaves me at an impass cuz my camcorder manufacture says that it is not my camcorder(because looking through the screen it shows being hooked up by saying DV in), my computer manufacture says it is not my port cuz it shows no errors on the device manager, so i guess i could try another firewire cord. It is my only hope since roxio has yet to get back to me(been 5 days), you have been way more helpful than roxio. thanks for your help Jim
