Hi All

I currently use convertx2dvd for converting all my films and adding menus and chapters to them, i used to use nero to burn them but i was having some problems with version 9 so i thought i would give creator 10 a try, the only problem is is that i cant find how i can just burn these already converted files, i tried clicking on the burn dvd files and the advanced button and chose to burn dvd without menu, but when i imported the files and previewed them creator removed or didn't recognise the dvd menu or the chapters so it was just a plain old movie!

Can anyone confirm if this can be done or does it just not work like i expected it to work.

Thanks

When you are done authoring in convertx, what are you outputting it to? An image file [ .ISO ] or a Video folder? It should be one or the other.

It sounds like you are using either the MyDVD app or the compilation mode of the Video copy & Convert app in EMC 10. Doing so, you would be re-authoring your video again so of course all of the work you did in the other app would be ignored.

You should be using the DVD Video Copy option of Video Copy & Convert to burn your image file or Video Folder set to disc.

I spoke to soon Larry, i just tried using that option, not only did it take ages to burn even at 16x, im sure it was rencoding the entire thing, and after it had burnt the disc i played it back and all the menus etc that i made in convertx had gone, all i was left with was the main film.

back to the drawing board i think.

EMC 10 of course will not recognize any menus created in ConvertX. You will have to create all menus in myDVD.
The only way EMC 10 would be able to burn your ConvertX project (with menus) if you are able to create a Video_TS folder (or iso file) in ConvertX

I said that EMC 10 cannot use the menus you created in ConvertX - you have to redo those menus using myDVD. Much better would be to redo the whole project in EMC 10.
If you creating a full DVD project with menus in one software package then you cant expect it to work in another authouring package. rolleyes.gif

Exactly what are you trying to do with the video you created in ConvertX? All you can do in EMC with the Video_TS folder is load the movie (without menu) into myDVD for authouring or burn the folder as is to a DVD (which should also burn the menu)

Hi There.

you said  quote "I said that EMC 10 cannot use the menus you created in ConvertX", yet in your previous post you said...

"The only way EMC 10 would be able to burn your ConvertX project (with menus) if you are able to create a Video_TS folder (or iso file) in ConvertX"

That's what i said i had done, i made a project using convertx, this had menus etc, it outputs this to a Video_TS folder, now when i used nero i would just load it up and then select burn dvd, i then would load the content of the Video TS folder and 8 mins later i had my dvd complete with menus.

i just want a way using EMC10 to just burn what i have made, without spending ages re-authoring, also i dont want to start making menus in EMC10 as convertx does a great job and ive been using it for ages so am very used to it.

Thanks

Pete

What I meant is that EMC 10 can only burn your Video_TS folder to a DVD. Use Creator Classic to burn.
EMC 10 cannot use your ConvertX menus if you want to change the menu.

You don't even need EMC 10 to burn your Video_TS folder. Look for a free program called ImgBurn which will do that and a lot more.
