Are you burning directly to disc?  If so, try burning to an image file. If successful, you can then burn the ISO to disc.

That error is usually video related but since you said you are updated, I thought to try the ISO method.
If you do a forum search on that error, you'll find most have been fixed by updating drivers and directx.

What video card/chip do you have?

How did you update the drivers for it?

Make sure that the new drivers actually installed.  With ATI, you have to use their utility in add/remove programs to remove all traces of the previous drivers, reboot and then add the new driver download and reboot again.

After that, right click on an empty spot on your computer and select the Control Center.  Set the card's performance to best and away from best appearance.  Check to see if the anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing are set to program controlled.  In MyDVD, go to the top menu and select tools, options, and run the test.  Where is the dot after the test?  I is probably near hardware - is it?  Try burning a disc (I hope you have some RW discs)  If not just burn to a 4.3 RW.  Can you burn?

Try again with burning a disc after you put the dot near software.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
