I'm guessing that you tried the v4 PXEngine.
Try this one and see if it helps:

PX Engine 4.10.28a.is the newest one. You said PX Engine 3_00_58a, the one Larry suggested you try, fixed your problem, right?

- Version 3.00.58 from Larry's link, or the latest one, version 4.10.21a
Can you confirm please that it was the one from Larry's link and not the latest one?
Thanks very much,
Brendon

Thanks for coming back to us.
If you go up a couple of messages and look at the links on Cdanteek's signature, at #7 is the link for the version 4 updater, and it is followed in the same line by a link for the version 3 installer.
I think the version 3 file is a full installer which will repair broken links and settings in your PX Engine, whereas the version 4 one will only update the files used without repairing anything that was broken.
This is why we're interested in which version fixed the problems - the old installer or the new updater.

Brendon

Yes I did try the version 4 before going on the forum. That made no difference. After I read the three replies I followed the link in Larry`s reply and downloaded the version 3. That worked fine. I`ve tried to confirm by looking for the Px Engine on my pc and I found a folder called Px Storage Engine. The date the folder was modfied is May 30th at 21.34. I know this seems to be earlier than my request for help, but that could be the difference in time zones. The only problem is that looking into the folder is not conclusive to me. If you tell me how, I will attach the folder for you to view, alternatively let me know what to look for and hopefully where to find it and I`ll let you know

Yup, Larry had that pegged in Post #3, as did Big_Dave, in a post that mysteriously disappeared.
And, you are correct about Version 4. Roxio needs to build an installer that works.

I just wanted to say that I'm glad I found this post. I have been trying
for a week to get Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum to play nice with
my LiteOn SOHW-1213S DVD R/RW.
My guess is that the current update engine was too new for version 6, so
I tried the PX Engine 3.00.58 found here and it did the trick! THANK YOU!

It's not really that.
The current updater won't fix a broken PX engine. It just installs the latest version of the files.
The version 3 updater seems to be a full installer, so will fix a broken PX engine.
That's why we suggest you try the 3.00.58 version if the other one doesn't solve your problem.
Glad it has done the trick.

Hey Brendon.
One last question. Does this mean that I should just stay with the 3.00.58 update, or
now that I have installed it, should I now also get the newer update.?
Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay. I've been out of country.
Yes, I'd suggest now the earlier one has repaired things you should use the later one to get up to the latest version.

Brendon
