my pc was running very slow , so i had someone to take it to school and cleaned it up, but my roxio wasn't on it when it was returned. I have none of my disks, so I used the disk for a computer I have that has vista on it and a dvd burner on it . It wouldn't work, error 000D, so i tried the creator 5.2 basic and it 's not compatible to the version of windows that was put on my pc. Should I just call Dell, because I been working with this problem for two days?
Thanks,
Annie

Hello Annie,
The free software [OEM version] that you get with a system or a burner often won't work on a different system or with a different burner.
Version 5.2 Basic is compatible with XP [despite the message you might get] as long as it's installed the way that is suggested in one of the pinned posts at the top of this forum. Bear in mind that it's an OEM version though.
Apart from those, if have no discs but you want to restore whatever software was originally on the machine then you'll need to approach Dell or whoever installed it in the first place.
Good luck.
