When Moving the Video Capture screen to another monitor it chops off the video at that point. The file size does not change but when you try to view the video it starts at whatever point you made the move to the other monitor. Is this a known issue? Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Don

Are you using a multiple monitor setup?  Did you drag Media Import from one monitor to the other while it was capturing?

Sorry, I never realized you posted a response to this question. To answer your questions, Yes and Yes.

Thanks,

I've never used Media Capture with multiple monitor setup. Try dragging Media Capture to the desired monitor before you start capturing.  A lot is going on when you capture video. Switching monitors could easily cause an interruption in data flow especially if you have a single core CPU.

Yeah that is what I am doing, I'm more curious if it is a known bug. I'm running a quad core system with 8gb of ram, so I don't think it is a hardware problem, but, who knows.

Thanks,
Don

You're the first. LOL  I don't think anyone else has reported using dual monitors here.

Yah, someone had to be first laugh.gif

I tested with 2010 and it is the same – it has been reported but while no one is really saying it, updates for 2009 are done!

It is odd, I have always considered dual monitors as the only way to fly if I were doing much video… I have a dedicated PC for video so I never bothered putting 2 on it.

Wonder if it works on any version???

Don, I am curious, are your monitors both the same? The only way I could quickly test was by putting a 17” with my 22”.

No, I actually have 3 monitors; 2 of them are Samsung SyncMaster 225BW and the third is a Samsung SyncMaster 245BW which is my primary monitor. I have the 245BW in the middle of the 225BW so when I switch an item from the primary to either of the secondary monitors the screen resolution changes. Perhaps that has some effect on it.
